At Canussa, as a Spanish brand certified B Corp, we believe in going beyond sustainable fashion. We are committed to a future where waste is no longer seen as the end of a product’s life, but the beginning of a new purpose. In this context, we are proud to present our collaboration with El Supremo Rum, the oldest rum brand in Paraguay. The brand partners with the Cañas Paraguayas distillery, renowned for producing aged rums in Brown Incense wood using ancestral techniques that reflect a rich cultural heritage.
The result of this collaboration is the exclusive Tanoa Cruz bag, designed to accompany the El Supremo 5YO bottle — where tradition, innovation, and craftsmanship come together to create an accessory with purpose and personality. Our brand, defined by conscious and timeless design and created in Valencia, thus reinforces its commitment to sustainability and excellence.
The official launch will take place at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, presenting it as an icon of fashion with purpose. Each bag will be available alongside the El Supremo 5YO bottle in exclusive stores, premium spaces, and selected duty-free retail locations.
Tradition and innovation in a unique piece.
The Tanoa Cruz bag combines the ancestral mastery of Paraguayan rum with Canussa’s modern craftsmanship. Designed and handcrafted in workshops in Valencia, it is made from vegan and recycled materials sourced from palm pruning waste in Alicante. This bag represents sustainable luxury, blending authenticity, innovation, and sophistication. Its name, inspired by indigenous bowls, evokes warmth and tradition. In earthy tones, it elegantly wraps the El Supremo 5-Year-Old bottle, transforming it into a unique fashion accessory.
Textile innovation from waste
Born from an environmental challenge, palm pruning waste in Alicante — more than 3,000 tons per year — is transformed into an innovative textile that prevents the emission of 520 kg of CO₂ for every ton recycled.
As Elena Iparraguirre, our designer and creative soul at Canussa, explains:
"We wanted to create more than just simple packaging: something that would continue the story of the bottle. A piece to carry, use, and talk about. Sustainability doesn’t have to come at the expense of beauty."
