The STANDARD Oeko-Tex 100 is an independent testing and certification system that certifies that the fabric we use has been tested and meets the required criteria to be considered a fabric free of toxic substances, toxic to health.

OUR LINING: FABRICS FOR A CLEAN OCEAN

SEAQUAL is one of the world's most certified and environmentally friendly fibers. SEAQUAL® YARN is a 100% recycled material with full traceability (DNA tracer inside). It is a high-quality recycled polyester yarn made from recycled materials, including post-consumer plastic bottles and plastic captured from the sea. That's why it helps preserve natural resources and reduce the planet's water waste.

For each Canussa bag, we have used up to 10 used plastic bottles, turning them into a product of higher value and quality, giving them a second life.

FAQs

The brand

Where are Canussa products manufactured?

All our accessories are ethically and responsibly crafted by artisans in the Valencian
Community (Spain).

What does vegan fashion mean?

Vegan fashion refers to clothing, accessories, and footwear made without any materials
of animal origin or derivatives thereof. At Canussa, we use synthetic or natural materials
of plant origin that mimic the characteristics of animal-based materials, such as high-
quality recyclable high-quality microfiber with maximum resistance certified by Oeko-
Tex, as well as material made from persimmon and palm tree waste, both sourced from
the Valencian Community.

What does "vegan leather" mean?

The term "vegan leather" is not entirely accurate; rather, it should be referred to as
"vegan alternative to leather." Nonetheless, in both cases, it denotes materials that
resemble leather but are not of animal origin. At Canussa, we use high-quality
recyclable high-quality microfiber with maximum resistance certified by Oeko-Tex, as
well as material made from persimmon and palm tree waste, both sourced from the
Valencian Community.

What material is used for the lining?

For the lining of our bags, we use Seaqual, a fabric made from high-quality polyester
thread derived from recycled materials, including post-consumer plastic bottles and
plastic collected from the ocean, thereby contributing to preserving natural resources
and keeping the oceans cleaner. Furthermore, this fabric holds GRS certification.

How does Canussa minimize its carbon footprint?

At Canussa, we reduce our carbon footprint by opting for local suppliers and
manufacturing in Spain, specifically in the Valencian Community, further decreasing
emissions. For every product sold, we plant a tree in collaboration with One Tree
Planted.

What does it mean to be a B Corp?

Canussa has been a B Corp company since June 2022 with a score of 102.4, well above
average. Our B Corp certification ensures that our impact is positive on social and
environmental standards, while also strengthening our policies and alliances.
